E-COMM Quality Inspections by Design (TM) Inspection Process Set-Up Methodolgy

The key desires held by any “owner” of a project under construction are that the project is constructed in conformance with its budget, schedule, design, and quality standards. A major construction quality requirement is that the quality is consistent throughout the entire project based on the designed quality level specified within the project’s design. In order to ensure consistent construction quality, a consistent quality inspection process must be defined, used and managed throughout the entire project.

In an effort to apply a consistent and repeatable inspection procedure to a given construction project’s inspection, an “inspection plan” must be devised to outline the inspection recording and reporting methods necessary to supply information to the project trade contractors. The basis of the E-Z Punch Inspection System is that our clients use the system to manage a pre-planned construction quality control process specified for their specific project. Any construction process can be automated by the E-Z Punch Inspection System including foundations, water proofing, exterior skin, framing, MEP and interior finish inspections.

The most important aspect to any E-Z Punch Inspection System implementation is the documentation of the inspection process and methods that will be used throughout the project by its quality inspection team. Through the use of the E-COMM Corporation Quality Inspections by Design TM methodology, E-COMM personnel specify in detail and design the inspection process that will be used by a client: a) to perform and document quality inspections, b) to produce construction inspection reports and construction punch lists, and c) to perform quality inspection back checks that are consistent with type of project (commercial, hospitality, multi-family, etc.) and the project’s design details.

The use of the Quality Inspections by Design methodology is truly unique and enables E-COMM to enable our clients to predefine how incomplete construction project work items and “punch” items lists will be documented, how inspection and punch list reports will communicate open items and punch items to each project trade contractors while ensuring that the inspection procedure each quality inspector uses to perform inspections is preplanned and implemented within the project and is consistently executed throughout the project.

The real value in the Quality Inspections by Design methodology can be experienced when the E-Z Punch system is being used by the project’s inspection team.

The E-Z Punch Inspection System enables contractors, property developers and project personnel to navigate construction punch list “templates” that are presented on a Palm PDA that “guide” the person performing quality inspections through a pre-planned inspection procedure for the project. The results of the E-COMM Corporation Quality Inspections by Design TM methodology, enables our clients to use a system to perform quality inspections, generate open item reports and management construction punch lists to more effectively manage a project to completion.

The value of the Quality Inspections by Design methodology and the E-Z Punch inspection system is clearly established as a result of the time it takes to perform inspections is minimized, the time to produce construction inspection and punch list reports is virtually eliminated, trade contractor management time is reduced, and the quality throughout the project is consistent from beginning to end. This is regardless of how many open items and punch items are documented for the project.

The E-Z Punch Inspection System is more than a “punch list manager”. The E-Z Punch Inspection System enables a predefined inspection methodology to be specified, designed and implemented for your project that results in a consistent and repeatable inspection method to be used on your project. The result? Consistent quality is delivered throughout the entire project. All the while your company reduces inspection time, eliminates inspection and construction punch list reporting time while resulting in a reduction of trade contractor management time. All of which, reduces the amount of time it takes to complete the project without having to cut corners in the time allocated to perform quality inspections.
